How to Make Steak Sauce

How to make steak sauce in words and pictures.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes or more.
  3. Adjust ingredient amounts to taste.
  4. Strain if desired. (I didn't)
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
  6. Store in air tight container or jar.

* I heat processed mine in a Water Bath for 15 minutes.
