Great Gravy |

The Great Gravy should be poured onto the Marvelous Mashed Potatoes for maximum taste. (Of course the gravy can be used on meatloaf, fried chicken, etc.) |
What goes into a great gravy- 2 tablespoons of meat drippings (the fats and juices)
- 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
- 1 cup liquid (meat juices, broth water)
- For this gravy, you should salt and pepper to taste.
How to make the drippings- Place meat (beef or pork) on a warm platter and keep warm while cooking gravy. Pour the drippings from a pan to a bowl, but keep 2 tablespoons in the pan. NOTE: Make it really close to 2 tablespoons because too little fat from the drippings renders the gravy lumpy.
- While cooking the drippings over low heat, stir in the flour and measure accurately or else the gravy might turn out greasy. Stir constantly and remove from heat when smooth and bubbly. Stir in the liquid from the bowl and reheat to boiling; while still stirring constantly.
- Boil/stir for around 1 minute and stir in a few drops of browning sauce. Sprinkle with salt and pepper according to taste.
- Serve this with the Marvelous Mashed Potatoes and you will have a family hit (if you followed directions of course!)
