It’s almost that Thanksgiving time of year again, and no matter how I prepare the Turkey or what kind of stuffing I make, there is one seasonal prerequisite that will be on the table as it always has been: Cranberry Sauce! I love Cranberry Sauce and can’t have a holiday meal without it. Unfortunately my family doesn’t share my passion, and there is always too much sauce left over! Here are my tips for using up the leftover Cranberry Sauce:
#5 Use it in pancakes. Make your pancake batter; then combine softened cream cheese with cranberry sauce and fold mixture into batter. Delicious!
#4 Seer leftover turkey slices with sliced “bread and butter” pickles in a hot pan and serve with Cranberry Sauce and melted Swiss cheese on Toast Points, it’s not a Reuben it’s a “Crueben”
#3 Tangy Cranberry Sauce makes a great marinade, mix with Worcestershire Sauce and Italian dressing and marinate your Pork Loin or Chicken Breasts for three days, cook as usual
#2 Stir into vanilla yogurt for your daily dose of anti-oxidants rich cranberry
#1 Put in a large bowl and place on the back porch, there’s nothing that says fun in the wilderness like a squirrel's face covered in jelly!
Have the tub of leftover cranberry in my fridge, and will try your ideas immediately! Maybe even the deer who are eating my bushes will get a tangy surprise!
