First of all, the main credit for this recipe must go to my wonderful girlfriend Lisa (the true chef in our house). The following is a list of ingredients you will need:
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. of ground beef
- 1 can of kidney beans
- 1 can of black beans
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 1 pack of regular chili mix
- 1 pack of hot chili mix
- 1 cup of water
Method:
First, brown the beef in a large skillet and season with salt and pepper. Then drain the grease off of the beef if necessary. Next, drain the mushrooms (as they are usually canned in water) and add the mushrooms, black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes and both packs of chili mix. Add a cup of water as you stir all the ingredients mixing them together. Bring chili to a boil and then reduce heat and let simmer for 12 minutes. Add cheese and oyster crackers as desired. Serves 6-8 people.
