Salsa: Spice It Up

Bored with your salsa? 10 ways to add some zing to your taste buds.

Bored of your normal tomato salsa? Need a new flavor? These tips are sure to score a 10 with your taste buds!

There are many different things that you can add to your salsa. Depending on if you are a textured eater or a taste eater will be a clue as to what you should add.

  1. Like cheese? Take Cheese Whiz, melted Velveta, or cream cheese to take some of the spice out of salsa that is too hot.
  2. If you like a ranch flavor, try adding some ranch dressing and some garlic salt to really change it up.
  3. Add some drained black beans and corn to your salsa to make an ever popular black bean and corn salsa.
  4. To try a whole new taste, try adding fruit. Yes; strawberries, pineapple, peaches, and mangos add sweet and texture with out taking out the spice of salsa.
  5. If your salsa isn't hot enough, add buffalo, or any other hot sauce to really heat things up.
  6. To make your salsa even healthier, puree an avocado and stir it in to your salsa.
  7. Just add heat. Heat up your salsa in a sauce pan to really cook in the flavors.
  8. Add some lime juice for a zingy bite. (This is one of my favorites)
  9. If your salsa is too runny, cut up some fresh tomatoes and add to the mix.
  10. To turn your salsa into a complete meal, add shredded pork, chicken or ground beef.
