Recipes with Potatoes

Potatoes are rich of carbohydrates. They are easy to cook and ready to give energy. Here are two recipes with potatoes.

Potato Wedges

Ingredients

  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 1tsp mixed herbs
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 2tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 1800C
  2. Cut potatoes into wedges without removing the skin
  3. Blanch in hot salted water and drain into a bowl
  4. Add salt, garlic, pepper powder, mixed herbs, lemon juice and 3 spoons olive oil and mix
  5. Sprinkle the remaining olive oil over them
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes
  7. Serve hot

Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 3 celery stalks and leaves
  • 2tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2½ cups milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2tbsp butter
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Peel and cube potatoes
  2. Chop onion and celery
  3. Fry them for 5 minutes in oil
  4. Put all the vegetables in a vessel and add boiling water
  5. Add the bay leaf and salt to them
  6. Drain and keep liquid
  7. Mash vegetables and add butter
  8. Stir in milk and serve warm

preheat oven to 180 C, not to 1800.
