Ingredients :
- 8 fresh red chillies -all or a few seeded
- a piece of “ blachan “ 2” x 1” x ¼” -roasted
- 4 dessert spoons good dried prawns well cleaned,
washed and soaked in boiling water before dining
- 3 dessert spoons vinegar or lime juice ( optional )
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste (if required)
- 1 cucumber - cut into slices
- 3 thick slices of ripe pineapple -cut into pieces
Method:
Pound the chillies and roasted “blachan” till fine. Remove from mortar and then pound the dried prawns to break them up.
Mix the chillie and “ blachan” paste, the pounded dried prawns, vinegar, salt and sugar with the cucumber and pineapple.
Serve with rice and curry or with fried noodles.
