Mint Soup (Pudina Tambli)

This dish is commonly prepared in South Canara and Konkan regions.

Ingredients

  • Mint Leaves 2 cups
  • Sour Curds 2 cups
  • Grated Coconut 2 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 "
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Black pepper pwdr 1 tsp (according to taste)
  • Salt to taste

Method

Grind all the above ingredients (except curds) with little curds. After blending to paste, add remaining curds and blend once again. Add water according to the consistency required. The consistency should be like creamy soup.

This tastes good with pulao/hot rice, or can be consumed like soup.
