Easy to make and perfect as a sweet snack or compliment to a meal. Nothing says winter like warm spiced apple salad on a cold day.
Syrup Ingredients:
- 6 lbs. Sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 oz. Cinnamon or a few drops of cinnamon oil
- 1 oz. Whole cloves
- 2 qts. Water
- ½ tsp. Red coloring
Method:
- Core and peel 50 apples and leave whole.
- Place apples in a flat pan.
- Pour over them a thin layer of the syrup.
- Cook on top of range.
- Turn while cooking.
