Sweet and Sour Cucumber Salad

An easy way to prepare cucumber salad.

Black pepper is what gives this salad an extra zing. I use McCormick pure ground black pepper. It's also perfectly fine not to add black pepper.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers (peeling is optional)
  • 1 small tomato (thinly sliced or minced)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced or minced)
  • 1 small ginger root (thinly sliced or minced)
  • 5 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pure ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup water

Method

  1. Slice cucumber into 1/8th inch thick and put in a shallow bowl or salad dish.
  2. In a cup or small bowl, dissolve salt and sugar in water and vinegar.
  3. Add the tomatoes, onions and ginger.
  4. Pour unto the cucumber slices
  5. Sprinkle the ground black pepper and serve.

(Add more salt and/or vinegar if you want more sourness and sugar if you want it sweeter)
