Mushroom dumplings are such a nice compliment to homemade soups and stews. Now you can enjoy dumplings with an added flavor twist, using this easy mushroom dumpling recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tbsp soft margarine or butter
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ cup of condensed mushroom soup
- 6 tbsp. water
Method
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut in margarine or butter.
- Add the mushroom soup and the water to make a soft dumpling dough.
- Drop by spoonfuls into simmering soup or stew.
- Cover and cook until dumplings are done.
- Cook mushroom dumplings 10-12 minutes
- Use only enough heat to keep liquid gently simmering
- Test dumpling doneness by inserting a knife into the center of a dumpling. When middle is no longer raw, dumplings are done and ready to be served
Mushroom dumplings should be served warm and they easily heat for tasty leftovers.
