Lose Weight Quickly: Healthy Spinach Meal

A very easy recipe with minimum effort and 100% health for your entire family. Get everyone in the family to eat their greens and love them. This can be made so quickly, and it works very well for busy professionals.

This dish originates from the eastern parts of Africa from countries like Tanzania and Kenya.

This delicious recipe is very healthy and makes spinach taste awesome. Get your greens with tasty options like these.

Ingredients

  • 1lb bag of spinach or 2 medium sized fresh spinach bunch
  • Methi or Fenugreek (found at most Indian grocers and sometimes in the ethnic section at No frills)
  • Turmeric powder (2 teaspoons), red chili powder (2 teaspoons) and salt (to taste)
  • 2 chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1 whole chopped onion
  • 1 lemon or lemon juice
  • Oil (your choice - vegetable or sunflower works well)

Preparation

  1. Wash spinach under cold running water… and break the spinach in to small pieces as desired… I just mesh them up.
  2. Heat oil for about 2 - 3 minutes on medium heat and than add the methi or fenugreek spice.
  3. Mix in onions and fry till light golden or yellow.
  4. Add the tomatoes to the mix and turmeric, chili powder and salt. Mix well and mash the paste.
  5. Add the spinach and mix well… let cook for about 5 minutes than add lemon to taste
  6. Let stand for about 10-15 minutes for juices to extract… (That will be the curry).
  7. Serve on top of rice or with bread.

Tip

Serve with chicken breast with the following spices.

  • Wash chicken breast
  • Add salt, chili, ginger & garlic paste, lemon and paprika
  • Let it sit for 2 hours and barbeque it on the grill or in the oven
