Shelly's Cheap and Fun Meals

I lived in an apartment with my fiancé, his brother and his brother's fiancé. We never had much money so we thought of easy and cheap meals to make... Here's a few.

Tuna Fun

Ingredients:

  • One large and one small can of tuna fish.
  • One large and two small cans of cream of mushroom soup.
  • One bag of egg noodles.
  • 4-6 eggs.

Steps:

  1. Start boiling the 4-6 eggs. It doesn't really matter how many you use but for people who like eggs a lot, use 6.
  2. Also start boiling water for the egg noodles
  3. Once water boils for the noodles, add the noodles to the water and let them cook. Careful not to over cook them.
  4. Once eggs are fully boiled, take them out of the hot water and place into a bowel of ice cold water. You can also add in a few ice cubes.
  5. Now in your baking pan, mix together the tuna fish and cream of mushroom soup
  6. Once egg noodles are fully cooked, drain the water and then add about 2 tablespoons of butter to egg noodles
  7. Go back and peal the shells off of all the egg and then cut them into pieces and mix in with tuna a cream of mushroom soup
  8. Add the egg noodles to the mixture and mix all together.
  9. Put a thin layer of bread crumbs on top if you like
  10. Finally, place tuna fun into the oven for about 15-20 minutes
  11. Take out and serve

Spaghetti and steaks

Serving size 6 (If you want more, get one more box of steaks and one more box of spaghetti.)

Ingredients:

  • One box of Salisbury steaks.
  • One box of spaghetti noodles.

Steps:

  1. Start boiling water for the spaghetti
  2. Take Salisbury steaks out of package and put into microwave for time stated on the back of the box
  3. After water boils, put spaghetti noodles in and let them cook. Try not to over cook them.
  4. When spaghetti is done cooking, drain water and then add about 2 tablespoons of butter to spaghetti
  5. After steaks are done, take out of microwave
  6. Serve steaks and spaghetti together

Meatball stew

Ingredients:

  • Large can of Tomato puree
  • Mini already made meatballs.
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Potatoes
  • Peas (optional)

Steps:

  1. Pour large can of tomato puree into pot. Fill can up with water and add to tomato puree.
  2. Add seasonings to your liking
  3. Add in as many meat balls as you want, but remember you do have other things to add to the stew. You can always add more meatballs later.
  4. Cut celery, carrots and potatoes into bite size pieces and add to stew
  5. Let cook for about 20-30 minutes or until vegetables are soft
  6. Add in peas if you like and cook for another 5 minutes or so
  7. Serve to family and friends

Ramen Magic

This really isn't something you cook, but it's like a take on the go snack or a snack to watch a movie with.

  1. Get a bag or more of Ramen and a zip lock bag.
  2. Open the bag of Ramen and dump into zip lock bag. Take out pouch of flavor and place aside.
  3. Break the Ramen into bite size pieces.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 if you have more then one bag of Ramen
  5. Add flavor pouch(es)
  6. Close zip lock bag and shake until flavor is mixed well
  7. Open the zip lock bag and enjoy!
