Pasta Just the Way You Like It

Pasta is one of the traditional foods of so many countries worldwide but where did this primarily originate? China, which has been known for consuming noodles like they’re fore fathers probably, has the right to claim the acknowledgement. But, history tells us that pasta even started way before Christ was born. Ancient people made use of this dough, which was set of on a bowl for about a couple of years and was spread to become a thin sheet of dough. It was then that pasta started to be used which needed to be boiled first before having to munch them.

Through time, pasta paved its way around the globe and was used with thousands and millions of cuisines, from simple spaghetti that everyone from all races enjoy to intricate preparations to suit the taste buds of the consumer.

There are a lot of issues about pasta and almost everyone argues, on what pasta to use during bashes, what sauce best complements the taste of the pasta, what looks good with the theme of the party and concerns like that, what herb must be used to complement the taste of the pasta. Usually, when we are confronted in front of a pasta shelf, you don't know what to choose among hundreds of kinds of pastas.

You now tend to ask the salesman standing by but he does not know as well. Though almost everyone is confused about this topic, they still continue to satisfy themselves with a mouthful of pasta, regardless of its appropriateness and suitability. After all, when it tastes good, it suits anyone's taste as well.

Here are a dozen of basic principles that will certainly help you in dealing with pasta queries regardless of what kind of pasta you are using.

  1. You have to begin with dried pasta. Immerse it any water, cold or hot, whichever you prefer and cool them off quickly with icy cold water to put a stop on the pasta's cooking, because of you just leave it after draining, there is a very great tendency that the pasta will eventually be overcooked on its own. Or, if you prefer to mix it with olive oil, you can lay it on a pan and cool and drizzle it with olive oil before stuffing them inside the fridge.

Leave them in no more than 2-3 days because it will start the pasta to dry and you will not get the best result that you wanted. If you are preparing for a party for the next week and you want to just toss the pasta over the counter and pour the sauce above it, simply put the pasta inside a tightly closed container because you would not want to let the pasta catch so many air for it will make the pasta dry and parched.
  2. Most pasta should be oily in its own character. Who would want to eat dry pasta over the table? To keep it moistened, pouring an appropriate amount of olive oil is the best to keep it tasty and retain the vibrant color of pasta for a good aesthetic value that your consumers will definitely love. Avoid using Balsamic Vinegar because it tends to change the color of the pasta, making it unappealing. Using butter on pasta is a no no! When butter is cooled, it solidifies on the pasta and you definitely don't want that to happen.
  3. Tortellini would not be your interest when you buy them dry. It has the tendency to be overcooked from a dry state and when served cold, it fouls up the totality of the dish. When you decide on making a viand with tortellini, it is best that you buy it fresh and tosses them with nuggets and sausage and drizzle an amount of Parmesan cheese on it.
  4. Macaroni salad always is on a perfect attendance from parties at home of big bashes and banquets of the royalty. But, did you know that elbow macaronis are not advisable? It is because; this kind of pasta has the greatest tendency to become too soft and floppy. With this, you can opt for orzo, penne, orchiette, farfalle or fucilli instead.
  5. While most of us use the traditional mayonnaise-filled salad, it certainly is a good idea if you want to keep committing the same mistake. Mayonnaise is a totally bad idea because the noodles itself cannot offset the heaviness of the cream. It can be used for other dishes but definitely not with pasta.
  6. When you consider ranch dressing on your pasta, better think twice if you want pasta or a veggie salad for that matter.
  7. It is best to toss other ingredients together with the pasta when it is cooked. Peppers, broccoli, carrot shreds and etc are among them. If they are not cooked enough when joined together with the pasta, it will tend to despise the flavor of the total dish and you would not achieve the best result you expect. When mixing the cooked ingredients with the pasta, you are preserving the taste of every individual mix and mixing them for a while has the fewer tendencies that the taste will be awful.
  8. Herbs are among the vast choices that you definitely choose when preparing pasta. Chives, dill, mint, basil, cilantro and parsley spices up the dish like a magical savor. Though rosemary and oregano are among the top choices of herbs to be used, it should be regulated when used because it carries with them a strong flavor, which could overpower the taste of the whole dish. Also, fresh hers are far better than using dried ones.
  9. A light cheese complements best on pasta. Feta, manouri and ricotta salata are among them. Sour cream cheese also works good depending on the other dishes that are present on the table. Parmesan cheese is not the first choice for this.
  10. Pasta salad's ingredients must not be more than five mixtures. If so, the pasta will completely be unidentifiable for they complexes the whole dish with their own significant taste making it poignant to look at in the first place.
  11. Reaching the optimum taste upon serving your pasta has to be prepared 3-4 hours prior to putting it on the table. But, adding up the herbs, which brings out the tasty and fresh aroma of the dish should be done just before serving it.
  12. The last but definitely not the least, you have to grab some for yourself and taste in on before placing it on the counter for serving. It might just need a little more kick of salt and pepper which would certainly make the dish perfect.

If you want just the best for your pasta, follow these basic principles and you will never go wrong on presenting your family and friends with your pasta masterpiece on a special meal. A good meal has a lot of effect on your day. You are able to concentrate on other important stuff then your mind taking space for food thoughts. So keep in mind that there are no shortcuts when you just want it the way you'll definitely love it.

Thank you for this. Pasta's like women - so many types but there's so little time for them all.
