Grandma Walsh's Shepard's Pie

My grandma used to make this delicious pie when we were kids.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of cooked hamburger
  • 1 bag of frozen mixed veggies
  • ½ cup of diced onions
  • ½ cup of diced celery
  • 3 cups of gravy
  • 3 ½ cups of mashed potatoes

Method

  1. Season all ingredients to taste.
  2. Arrange the fresh cooked meat in a 9” x 13” baking dish.
  3. Add partially cooked well drained veggies.
  4. Add the fresh made gravy and mix lightly to coat all the meat and vegetables.
  5. Spread the meat mixture with mashed potatoes.
  6. Spread with a fork and drizzle some butter on the top.
  7. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until lightly browned.

Great recipe, Chris and a reminder to make it again sometime soon. I will follow your Grandma Walsh's recipe this time...it sounds like a good one.

Hey Chris,
Wow!!! Now this is a meat and potatos meal! It has everything. I can't wait to try it. These are my kind of recipes; they fill the tummy and are easy to prepare. Love it!...well...i'm sure i will when i prepare/make it. My father will flip when i make this as he is a very Northwestern meat-n-potatos kind of guy.
I hope to see more of your recipes...especially the dinner ones. Any chicken, cassarole, or slow cooker recipes hidden in the wall? lololol
Thanks Chris!
