Easy Cheesy Hamburger Bisquick Bake

If you like simple & easy cooking then this recipe is for you. This recipe uses a great combination of ingredients that most people already have on hand in their pantry. This means no special ingredients, no fuss, no long preparation time, just a simple, quick and easy recipe made in one dish in less than 40 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Two large ripe red tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 lb.of ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup canned mushroom (optional)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1 & 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a large skillet, cook hamburger, onion, mushrooms and garlic until hamburger is browned. Drain any excess grease from cooked ground beef mix.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Pour cooked ground beef mix into a 9 x 9 greased casserole dish
  5. In a medium size bowl, combine eggs, milk, Bisquick and half the shredded cheese with a fork until well mixed.
  6. Pour Bisquick mixture over ground beef.
  7. Place sliced tomatoes on top of the Bisquick mix.
  8. Sprinkle remaining shredded cheese on top of tomatoes.
  9. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center pulls out clean.

The above recipe serves six.

This was quick and easy to make. I don't keep my cheese in 1 3/4 cup packages so I upped it to 2 cups. The tomatoes really make this special. It's a keeper!!
