Ok, you've put on your makeup and have chosen what you plan to wear for that dinner party, the problem is, you have 30 minutes to get the food ready. What do you do? Well lets assume you already plan this and went shopping for the occasion. Here is a great menu that will leave all your guest thinking you slaved for hours.
Hors'Dovours
Ingredients
- 3 full tomatoes
- olive oil
- 1 store bought frozen garlic bread.
Remove garlic bread from its packaging. With a sharp knife, cut one inch thick slices until you run out of bread. Place those on an cookie sheet and place in the oven for 5 minutes. While that is cooking, dice the tomatoes and place into a bowl. Pour a dash of olive oil onto the tomatoes and gently mix. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a small amount of pepper. Remove bread from oven and lay out slices of bread on serving tray. Spoon an appropriate amount of tomatoes onto the toasted garlic bread and you have a healthy and delicious appetizer.
Dessert
Here's a trick for making the best chocolate mousse you have ever had. And it only takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients:
- Tiny marshmellows (like for hot chocolate)
- chocolate chips. (Hersheys is best)
- sugar
- pint of heavy cream
in a pot. Pour 4 table spoons of water (or make sure there is enough water to cover the bottom of pot.). Pour in two hand fulls of marshmellows and two hand fulls of chocolate chips. Turn the pilot light to low. Occasionally stirr as the chocolate and marsmellows melt it should take less then 5 minutes. Turn off flame. In a bowl pour in a palmful of sugar and the content of the heavy cream container. Using a mixer or a hand held wisk, whip cream untill it is the consistency of whip cream (which is exactly what it is). Spoon in the melted chocolate. Whip alittle more untill the chocolate is evenly mixed. Pour in to bowls or for more elegance, pour into wine glasses. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes and dessert is made. Trust me you will amaze all after they learn you made it from scratch.
Salad
This is easy. Buy a package of pre made salad and pour it into a bowl. Let people serve them selves its easier and saves time
Dinner
Here is a quick pasta meal that all will enjoy. Linguini works best with this , but any pasta will do.
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (linguini or any kind of pasta)
- 3 chicken breasts
- onions
- Tomato
- 8th of a cup of wine (any kind of wine. Red, white..it doesn't matter)
- 26 oz jar of tomato sauce.
- Garlic (either fresh or a spoonful of diced garlic, in oil from a jar)
- olive oil
Fill a pot with water and a little salt and bring to a boil. Pour in about a table spoon of olive oil. Place pasta into pot and stir as it cooks . This will keep the pasta from sticking.
Cut up chicken breast into small pieces and put to the side. Dice one union and dice tomato. In a skillet, Pour a small amount of olive. As it gets warm, put chicken into pot. Move chicken pieces around as they cook. You want the chicken to brown all the way around. Add onions and tomatoes to the skillet and cook. Remember to continue to move the contents around in pot. When the onions become translucent...approximately (3 minutes) pour in wine. Let simmer for a minute, then pour in tomato sauce and stir. Make sure all ingredients blend. Pour in a palm of salt and a palt pf pepper. Let simmer for 2 minutes more and its done. Strain pasta and put in serving dish. Do the same for the sauce. And place on the table.
in less then 30 minutes you have prepared a meal that everyone will be talking about. So now you can get dressed and wait for your guest to arrive. Enjoy.
