It's my most favorite time of the year. I actually start decorating the house the day after Halloween much to the dismay of my better half. However after 20 years she has finally conceded to my love of the holiday.
Here is the best-ever Christmas drink, complete with the Christmas flavor associated with the holiday.
The Not-So-Classic Rum and Eggnog
Ingredients
- 1 cup of your favorite eggnog
- 1 oz of spiced rum
- ¾ oz of Irish cream
- 1 oz of chocolate milk
- 1 Tablespoon of chocolate syrup
- Whipped cream
- Dash of cinnamon
Preparation
- Add ice to your glass first this is most important.
- Pour Irish cream and rum over ice and eggnog over ice and stir and pour in chocolate milk (do not stir it in) add dash of cinnamon and top with whipped cream and drizzle chocolate syrup over the whipped cream.
- Garnish with a candy cane and serve.
This drink has become a favorite among my family and guests alike and for them no Christmas can be complete with out it.
For the kids you can substitute the rum and Irish cream with flavored syrups which you can find in any specialty coffee shops.
Spiced rum is a must for this drink as it adds a hint of spice to the drink otherwise not found in your traditional rums.
