Forever Amber Confections

A different and unique candy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 ounce) package orange slice candy
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 1/3 cups (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Method:

  1. Chop orange slices.
  2. Mix with other ingredients and bake in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan at 300 degrees F for 25 minutes.
  3. Cool.
  4. Shape into balls, then roll in confectioners sugar or coconut.
  5. Yields 5 1/2 dozen

OR

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chopped orange slices candy
  • 2 (3.5 ounce) packages flaked coconut
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  3. Combine the chopped orange slice candy with the coconut and chopped walnuts. Stir in the orange juice and vanilla. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Let cool. Scoop out spoonfuls and roll into walnut sized balls.
  5. Roll the balls in confectioners' sugar.
