Delicious Southern Pecan Pie and Other Easy Desserts

Delicious Southern Pecan Pie, Caramel Cake and other easy to make desserts from your kitchen that your family will love.

PecanPie

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp.vanilla
  • 1 cup dark or light kayro syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 deep dish pie shell
  • 2 Tlb.margarine melted

Method

Preheat oven and cookie sheet to 350. In large bowl stir in first 5 ingredients until Well blended. Stir in pecans, Pour in crust. Bake on cookie sheet 50 to 55 minutes. Until knife inserted half way between center and edge comes out clean. Do not Oven bake.



Raspberry Coconut Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 cups flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup raspberry jam
  • 8 oz. cool whip

Method

Bake cake as directed adding 2/3 cup coconut to batter. Mix jam and 1 cup coconut in small bowl. When cake is done spread between layers. Frost cake with cool whip. Press remaining coconut on top and sides of cake.



Three Step Cherry Cheese Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 8 oz. packs cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Method

Mix all ingredients together. Pour in graham cracker crust. Bake at 350 until center is almost set. Cool and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Spread with a can of cherry pie filling.



Cream Caramel Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy, add eggs, one at a time, add flour and cream to butter mixture. Add vanilla; Pour into 9 in. pans (3). Bake 23 to 30 minutes until done. Remove from oven and cool on rack 10 minutes. Careful remove from pans to cool completely.



Caramel Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar

Method

Melt butter, add brown sugar and milk, cook 2 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly, remove from heat, add vanilla and pour over confectioner's sugar. Let cool slightly, frost your cake.



Chocolate Pudding Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tlb.cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tlb.melted butter
  • 1 tsp.vanilla

Mix all ingredients in baking dish. Sprinkle this over all.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/4 cup hot water

Method

Sprinkle sugar and cocoa over batter. Pour hot water over all. Do not stir. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Pudding will be in bottom of pan.



Lemon Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs separated, beat yolks, beat whites
  • 1 tlb.flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup milk

Method

Mix in this order. Flour, salt, butter, yolks, juice, milk, mix well. Put a little beaten yolk mixture in beaten whites. Fold whites in yolk mixture. Pour in uncooked pie crust. Bake 10 minutes at 450 then 50 minutes at 350.



Strawberry Short Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 package lb.cake
  • 3 cups strawberries, sliced, sweetened
  • 1 tub cool whip

Method

Cut cake in 12 slices, place 6 on individual dishes, Spoon about 3 spoons strawberries on each slice cake, top with 1/3 cup cool whip, repeat layers, ending up with dollop of cool whip on top.

I have always wanted to make a pecan pie but didn't have the nerve.I am going to try this one for Thanksgiving.wish me luck.

I make pecan pies, but yours is a little different from mine. I think I'll make yours, and see how it tastes.
