Halloween Time: Gooey Gumdrop Cookies

The kids will ask for more when you serve this candy infused Halloween cookie. The recipe is simple and oh so ghoulishly good!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. Soda
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups oats, rolled
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup gumdrops candy, sliced into smaller pieces

Method

  1. Completely cream shortening and sugars, add eggs and beat well.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.
  4. Add oats, coconut, and gumdrops. Roll into small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Press flat with fork.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Presto! You have candy themed cookies for your Halloween party this year. Makes 6 dozen.
