Carrot Halwa

Simple and delicious sweet recipe that is loved by people of all age groups in India.

The all time famous sweet of India is Carrot Halwa, also known as Gajar Halwa. People of all age groups do love this delicious recipe; especially kids just wish their mom prepares the dish for some special occasions. The ingredients needed to prepare this dish are readily available in any store either in India or abroad.

Ingredients:

  • Carrots grated - 20
  • Ghee - 5 tsp
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
  • Cashews
  • Dry grapes (Kissmiss)
  • Milk - 6 cups
  • Sugar - 1 cup

Method:

  1. Take a pan and add ghee to it.
  2. Once the ghee melts fry cashews and kissmiss until they turn brown in color.
  3. Remove them and place them aside.
  4. Now add on grated carrot to the ghee pan and fry until it turns light brown in color.
  5. Boil the milk in another pan and add the boiled milk to the fried carrot.
  6. Add sugar to the above pan and allow the carrot to cook.
  7. Leave it on until the mixture thickens.
  8. Now add cardamom, cashews, kissmiss to the mixture.
  9. Serve hot or cold.
