Steamed Sponge Cake (Makes 30 pieces. 1 serving =30g)
Ingredients
- 360 g (3 cups) self-raising wheat flour, sifted
- 300 g (I 1/4 cups) castor sugar
- 8 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla essence
Method
- Beat eggs one at a time into a mixing bowl
- Slowly mix in sugar and beat until fluffy
- Sift wheat flour into the batter and mix well
- Add vanilla essence
- Pour batter into a cake mould lined with greaseproof paper
- Steam for 20 - 30 minutes
- Insert skewer to test if cake is ready
