Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe

The important feature of this recipe is that no eggs are used. As such the cake does not contain any cholesterol.

Eggless Chocolate Cake (20 servings. 1 serving = 25 g)

Ingredients

A

  • 200 g (1 1/2 cups) wheat flour
  • 10 g (2 tsps) baking powder
  • 5 g (I tsp) bicarbonate of soda
  • 60 g ('/2 cup) skim milk powder

B

  • 5 g (1 tsp) instant coffee powder
  • 140 g (l/2 cup) castor sugar
  • 25 g (2 tbsps) honey
  • 150 ml (4/s cup) hot water

C

  • 180 g (3/4 cup) margarine
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla essence
  • 30 g (3 tbsps) cocoa powder

Method

  1. Sieve ingredients (A) and set aside
  2. Mix ingredients (B) thoroughly until sugar and honey melts. Coal.
  3. Use an electric mixer to cream ingredients (C)
  4. Add half of ingredients (A) into creamed mixture (C) and continue mixing with the electric mixer
  5. Add half of ingredients (B) and continue to mix
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all ingredients are used up
  7. Pour batter into a 20 cm square cake tin lined with greaseproof paper
  8. Bake at 160°C for 45 minutes or until cake is cooked

Sounds interesting. Since it uses wheat flour n skim milk,honey it must be really healthy.
