INGREDIENTS:
1 box graham cracker crumbs
1 large block cream cheese, softened
1 tub of cool whip thawed
½ cup margarine (optional)
½ cup granulated sugar (optional)
½ cup icing sugar
1 can pie filling of your choice
Pour enough crumbs into glass cake pan to thickly cover the bottom. This is your base. For a firm, sweet base add granulated sugar and melted margarine to crumbs. Mix well and pat into bottom of cake pan. In another bowl, mix softened cream cheese, cool whip and icing sugar together with an electric beater until smooth. Spread evenly over base. Spread can of pie filling over cream mixture. Top with a light sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs. Keep refrigerated.
Use light cream cheese and cool whip, artificial sweetener and sugar free pie filling for a lighter desert.
