Cream Cheese Cake Squares

The delicious taste of cream cheese in your cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 - 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  1. Combine the first 3 ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. Press this mixture into a lightly greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  4. Beat the cream cheese at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  6. Gradually add the powered sugar, beating well.
  7. Stir in the vanilla.
  8. Pour this mixture over the first layer, spreading evenly.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
  10. Cool and cut into 1 ½ inch squares.
  11. Makes 4 dozen squares.
