Rava Idli

This is one of the famous Indian breakfast. this is a tasty south Indian recipe...

Ingredients:

  • Fine sooji=2 cups
  • Ghee -5 tbsp spoon
  • Green chilles-10( max it as a paste )
  • Sour curd -2 cups
  • Finely chopped onions -1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves & curries leaves - 2tbsp
  • -(a finely chopped)
  • Boiled peas -1/4 cup
  • Baking soda -1/2 cup
  • Salt -11/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Fry the sooji finely with out any lumps and mix it curds.
  2. In a pan pour some ghee and season it with mustard seeds , cumin seeds ,asafetida powder, red chilles, channa dhal, thoor dhal and curry leaves
  3. Then add the finely chopped onions and sauté it .
  4. Then add salt and add them to the sooji mixture.
  5. Also add these to the mixture , chilli paste ,coriander and curry leaves (finely chopped ),baking soda.
  6. After mixing the contents nicly, pour them in a idli plate.(coat the plates with ghee or oil)
  7. Keep them in steam for about 7 mins.

Tips:

You can also add grated carrots or coconut over the ghee coated idli plates.

For this you will get 20 idlis…

This is a typical traditional Indian breakfast…..
