Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 4 tbsp. lard
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½-1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
Method
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in lard with a pastry cutter. Add cheese and crumpled bacon. Stir in milk and work dough with your hands, lightly folding and kneading until ingredients are dispersed evenly throughout dough.
- Sprinkle flour on a large board or dust your counter and roll out your biscuit dough. Cut into circles and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake in a 350-degree oven and reduce heat as needed so that insides cook. Bake biscuits until they are golden brown.
- Remove your cheese and bacon biscuits and serve immediately. Split in half and spread with butter.
