Sunflower Seeds and Raisin Bread

Recipe for sunflower Seeds and Raisin Bread.

Ingredients:

  • 3 egg whites
  • ½ cup castor sugar
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup raisins

Method:

  1. Lightly grease 8cm x 26cm bar pan, cover base with grease paper.
  2. Beat egg whites in small bowl with electric mixer until soft peaks form
  3. Then gradually add in sugar, beat until dissolved between each addition.
  4. Stir in flour, sunflower seeds and raisins.
  5. Spread the mixture into the pan that was prepared earlier.
  6. Bake for 40 minute at 180°C or until firm. Then let it cool in the pan.
  7. When the bread is cool, take it out and wrap in foil then let it stand for 1-2 days.
  8. After 1-2 days, cut the bread into 4mm slices, place slices in single
  9. layer on ungreased oven trays.
  10. Bake in oven at 180°C for 10-12 minutes or until crisp.
  11. This will make about 60 pieces.
