Mommy's Pinto Beans with Orkra

This is one of those old fashion back home recipe's my mommy use to make. It's so delicious with that old back home flavor. Eaten with old fashion butter milk corn bread and a garden green salad quick to make. And Great to eat.

This recipe can be quick or you can make it the good old fashion way, but I myself love it both way's and especially if I am hungry I cook it the quick way.

First get a bag of pinto beans or cans of pinto beans works just as well for me. With the bag of pintos you usually have to pick them and wash them and soak them for a couple of hours or over night. But with the cans all you have to do is drain the juice from the can, I myself usually wash them off in the drainer with cool runnig water, now they or ready for cooking. Now you can make this recipe the quick and easy way or the traditional way of cooking.

First you get your favorite pre-smoke meat like turkey tails, turkey wings or smoke turkey legs or smoke ham hocks or smoke neck bones what ever your southern taste buds go for it's all good!

Use about 4 to 6 pieces of this meat in a large pot and cook until tender

Second after the meat is tender add 2 medium size cans of drain Pinto beans to the pot

add 1 bag of frozen cut up Orkra

add a half of cup of chop onion and 3 govers of crush garlic to the pot

sprinkles some Mrs. Dash or your flavorite season salt and black pepper for taste

Cook this dish for about 30 minutes more and you or done and ready to serve with corn bread and a garden green salad with your favorite salad dressing. Bring the south closer to home the quick and easy way!
