Bananas are an easy snack to carry with you. One check on the internet or in a health food book and you will find out the banana has a multitude of health benefits. Here are just a few ways to add a healthful banana to your diet each day.
Ordinary ideas
- A banana sandwich with peanut butter on whole wheat bread is a healthy version of a classic.
- Add slices of bananas to your cold cereal or hot oatmeal.
- Make a loaf of banana bread or a pan of banana muffins. Add raisins, prunes, or dried cranberries to bread and muffins.
- Prepare a banana pudding. You can make a quick banana pudding type snack by putting a tablespoon of prepared vanilla or banana pudding on a wafer, top pudding with a slice of banana and a teaspoon of whipped topping.
- Slice a banana in half lengthwise. Spread with peanut butter. Place raisins on top of peanut butter. Children usually like this idea and they can help make this snack.

- In a small bowl in the microwave, melt dark chocolate. In another bowl put banana slices and dried cranberries. Pour melted chocolate over bananas and cranberries. Serve warm.
- Put banana slices in a bowl and microwave until warm, do not overheat or banana will become too soft. Drizzle honey over warm banana and sprinkle with coconut for a tropical snack.
- In a small bowl melt chocolate baking chips. Slice a well-chilled banana lengthwise. Place banana on small plate. Pour chocolate over the banana and sprinkle with finely chopped nuts.
