Kitchen Zen for Men: Crappie Po' Boy Sandwiches

A simple yet delicious way to prepare and enjoy crappie.

Ingredients

  • 6 Crappie fillets
  • 6 slices Homemade Sourdough bread
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Tartar sauce or Remoulade sauce

Method

  1. Cook fillets in accordance with Kitchen Zen for Men - Fried Crappie recipe. See Kitchen Zen for Men Introduction for important tips on frying fish.
  2. Slice 6 pieces of homemade sourdough bread.
  3. Cut iceberg lettuce into strips by cutting into head with a large knife, creating strips.
  4. Toast bread lightly.
  5. Coat one side of the toasted bread slices with tartar sauce or remoulade sauce, whichever you prefer.
  6. Place two pieces of fish onto the bread, top with shredded lettuce.  Place other piece of bread on top of the lettuce.

Makes 3 sandwiches.  Enjoy!

Note: I have found it easier to manage by cutting each sandwich into two pieces.
